What You Will Own
- Supervise a small group during activities, meals, transitions, check-in, and dismissal.
- Build trust through active listening, positive encouragement, and consistent boundaries.
- Notice safety or behavior concerns early and communicate them to program leaders.
- Model respect, teamwork, and a welcoming attitude throughout the program.
Next, you will agree on practical priorities with a program leader. Meanwhile, regular updates will help the team resolve questions early. Therefore, you will know what success looks like and where your time can make the greatest difference.
Youth Mentor opportunity: Experience and Strengths
- Experience mentoring, coaching, teaching, caregiving, recreation, or leading youth.
- Calm judgment, patience, reliability, and inclusive communication.
- Comfort following supervision, privacy, and youth-safety procedures.

Support From Cougs 4 Kids
During onboarding, a team contact will share program context, safety guidance, and useful tools. Afterward, check-ins will provide space for questions and feedback. Time Commitment and Location
This is primarily an in-person Camp Coug role in Washington. The team will confirm dates, shifts, location, and supervision assignments before placement.
This is an unpaid volunteer position. Before service begins, Cougs 4 Kids may require orientation, a background check, and applicable youth-safety training. Finally, the recruiting team will confirm all requirements before you accept the assignment.
