Basic Needs Essentials

Hygiene essentials and socks offer practical support for daily routines. MentorBoost Kits are designed for teens ages 13–18. Available items vary by build; ask about current needs before purchasing products for a kit.

Words of Encouragement

An encouragement note adds a caring message to supplies. Volunteers can offer kind words that recognize a young person’s choices and possibilities. A note is a gesture of support; it does not replace an ongoing mentoring relationship.

Why It Matters

MentorBoost Kits combine practical essentials with a clear message of encouragement for young people. The design connects five areas of support: basic human needs, love and belonging, community support, education and enrichment. A kit may include hygiene items, socks, writing tools, an activity and a resource card. These items offer useful support; they are not a substitute for ongoing services or mentoring. Cougs 4 Kids is a program of Believe in Me. Donors can support the program, volunteers can ask about assembly, and schools or nonprofits can discuss distribution for their site. Youth and families can explore the Resource Hub without waiting for a build day.
