About Cougs 4 Kids

Cougs 4 Kids, an initiative of Believe in Me, connects WSU alumni, student-athletes, and volunteers to programs that help marginalized youth build confidence, character, community, and opportunity.

Role Overview

Coordinate clear, timely communication for Camp Coug families, volunteers, partners, and supporters. Weekly virtual planning and in-person participation at assigned events are expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build the communications plan and calendar.
  • Prepare updates, FAQs, and urgent notices.
  • Maintain accurate, accessible brand messaging.

Qualifications

  • Communications, PR, or marketing experience.
  • Excellent writing and editing.
  • Calm deadline management.

Volunteer Requirements

  • One-year commitment and at least 10 hours per month.
  • Orientation, background check, and youth-safety steps.
  • Valid driver’s license and occasional travel.
  • Required trauma-informed, cultural-sensitivity, DEI, resilient-youth, and mentorship training.
