About Cougs 4 Kids

Cougs 4 Kids, an initiative of Believe in Me, connects WSU alumni, student-athletes, and volunteers to programs that help marginalized youth build confidence, character, community, and opportunity.

Role Overview

Coach safe, inclusive sports activities that build skills, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship. Weekly virtual planning and in-person participation at assigned events are expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead practices, games, and skill sessions.
  • Adapt activities for different abilities.
  • Monitor equipment, hydration, and safe play.

Qualifications

  • Coaching or youth recreation experience.
  • Positive instruction and motivation.
  • Commitment to inclusive participation.

Volunteer Requirements

  • One-year commitment and at least 10 hours per month.
  • Orientation, background check, and youth-safety steps.
  • Valid driver’s license and occasional travel.
  • Required trauma-informed, cultural-sensitivity, DEI, resilient-youth, and mentorship training.
